Knowledgeable and passionate, Gary Lewis’s illustrious career has been focused within the high-end custom electronics sector for the past two decades. His experience in the management of ultra-premium bespoke residential smart home and audio visual projects, has led him to found Hypha, a luxury boutique smart home and AV business that offers a personalised white glove service to discerning clients, from design and implementation to support.

His experience began in the 1990’s after he left Guildford Technology College with a Diploma in Electronic Engineering for which he achieved a Distinction. This led him to his first role as a designer and installer working for a company that supplied state-of-the-art security systems to the Ministry of Defence. With a keen interest in burgeoning home technologies, he moved to work with Bang & Olufsen, the world-leading premium audio visual brand at the time.

He started Future Systems in the early 2000’s, specialising in the design and implementation of multi-room audio systems and home cinemas aimed at ultra-high net worth clients, where he managed numerous £million residential projects with his hand-picked team of designers and technicians. In 2012, his company merged with Cornflake, a specialist smart home and AV business, and, together, they launched London’s first high end residential technology experience centre called the Smart App-artment, just off Tottenham Court Road. During this period, Gary also became the Chairman and International Chairman of CEDIA, the global trade association for smart home professionals with interests in 77 countries; a role he held for two years, having been a board member for almost a decade.

With a desire to offer a boutique bespoke project management solution with a dedicated service offer that focuses on the needs and requirements of clients, architects and interior designers, Gary founded Hypha in 2024.
